디스위켄드룸은 2025년 프리즈 서울에서 아시아를 넘어 국제 무대를 중심으로 활발히 활동 중인 한국의 젊은 작가 김서울, 김진희, 박신영, 최지원의 작업 세계를 조명한다. 동시대 한국 작가 4인은 시대와 지역을 초월하는 인간의 보편적 감정, 역사와 문화를 이루는 사유와 표상, 주변 환경과 연결되는 감각을 기반으로 한 회화, 판화, 입체 작업을 선보인다.
올해로 개관 10주년을 맞은 디스위켄드룸은 격변하는 미술 시장 속에서 각 작가가 자신만의 독자적인 영역을 구축할 수 있도록 네트워킹을 확장하며 다채로운 프로젝트를 꾸준히 이어왔다. 갤러리 부스는 ‘원 데이 쇼케이스와 마이크로 아틀리에’라는 컨셉을 토대로 작가들의 조형적 실험을 생동감 있게 전달하고, 갤러리가 지향해 온 아시아 현대미술의 외연 확장과 지역 예술가의 국제적 연결이라는 미션을 밀도 있게 반영한다.
At Frieze Seoul 2025, ThisWeekendRoom presents four emerging Korean artists – Seoul Kim, Jinhee Kim, Shinyoung Park, and Jiwon Choi – each extending their practices beyond Asia to the international stage. Their new paintings, prints, and sculptures explore universal emotions, cultural symbols, and environmental sensitivities in a contemporary visual language.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, ThisWeekendRoom continues to develop projects and networks that support artists in defining their presence in a shifting art market. The booth features an experimental format – a one day showcase and micro atelier – offering a vivid glimpse into each artist’s current trajectory while reflecting the gallery’s mission to amplify Asian contemporary art and foster international connections.
