About Artist
팔레스타인 작가 아이샤 에 아라르는 동시대 국제 정치 사회의 모순된 장면에 끊임없이 저항하며, 현실을 변화시키는 구체적이고도 일상적인 실천으로서의 예술의 힘을 공유하고자 한다. 그는 회화, 영상, 퍼포먼스, 글쓰기 등 다양한 행위의 중첩을 통해 개인과 공동체의 삶과 기억, 그리고 그 너머의 자유에 관해 발언한다. 그의 작업은 공통적으로 단단한 물리적, 이념적 벽을 넘나드려는 성질을 공유한다. 빠른 필치로 그려내는 회화는 고정된 사각의 캔버스 틀에 연연하지 않고 주변에서 얻을 수 있는 일상적 사물을 지지체로 삼는다. 상이한 질감과 테두리를 가진 드로잉은 전시장의 고정된 구조적 특성을 와해시키며 벽과 벽 사이, 바닥과 천장을 유영하는 이미지로 기능한다. 여러 형태로 드러나는 작가의 호흡과 몸짓은 왜곡된 세상의 면면들을 사랑과 치유의 지대로 이끌기 위한 것이다. 그는 여전히 인간 중심적인 함의로 가득한 지구에서 비가시화되는 집단, 식물과 동물, 미생물이 공존하고 있음을 주지하며 그들에게 자리를 돌려주어야 함을 주장한다.

Palestinian artist Aysha E Arar constantly resists the contradictory scenes of contemporary international politics and seeks to share the power of art as a concrete, everyday practice that transforms reality. Her works share a common quality of transcending physical and ideological boundaries. Quick brushstroke paintings do not adhere to a fixed, square canvas frame but use everyday objects from her surroundings as supports. These drawings, with their different textures and borders, disrupt the fixed structural nature of the exhibition hall, functioning as images that float from wall to wall, floor to ceiling. The artist’s breath and gestures, which take many forms, aim to transform the distorted aspects of the world into a space of love and healing. She is acutely aware of the coexistence of invisible groups, plants, animals, and microorganisms on a planet still dominated by anthropocentric implications, and she insists on giving them their due place.
