About Artist 구나의 조각과 회화에는 곧게 뻗은 직선도, 확실한 곡선도 존재하지 않는다. 자유로이 증식하는 유동적인 선들은 작가 스스로 고백하듯 그의 불편한 몸과 흔들리는 사고에 기인한다. 다만 그에게 흔들림은 불안이나 결핍이라기보다 세상을 느끼는 고유한 방식에 가깝다. 눈과 얼굴, 뼈 등을 대체하는 형상에는 자신의 마음이 못내 투영되어 있다. 불뚝 튀어나오거나, 모나거나, 분절되어 있거나, 고여 있거나, 부식의 흔적을 지닌 모든 것은 그러한 사유의 단서들이다.
In GuNa’s work, there are neither rigid straight lines nor definitive curves. The fluid lines that freely proliferate throughout her works stem from what the artist describes as her own physical discomfort and unstable way of thinking. Such wavering is less a sign of anxiety or deficiency than a unique way of sensing the world. Her inner mind is deeply projected onto forms that substitute for eyes, faces, and bones. Everything that bulges outward, forms sharp angles, becomes fragmented, remains stagnant, or bears traces of corrosion serves as a clue to this sensibility.
